Aro breathing hard
Hi bros and siss,Need some advise please... My Aro has not eaten since Friday (13th Dec) and since Saturday (14th Dec) although swimming very actively, its mouth is constantly opening and closing as if breathing very hard. It only eats MP. Water conditions are as follows:
- Ammonia : 0
- Nitrite : 0
- Nitrate : 40
- Ph : 6
40% water change was done on Thursday (12th Dec) at night direct from tap (slow rate as advised from bros here) and used Seacheam Prime (liquid) as anti-chlorine (poured in before, during and after water change.) Aeration has always been full blast using a Hi-blow 20. Water temperature is 30 degrees Celsius. Other additives in the water were Bio-Earth (4 teaspoons), Azoo Black water (5 squirts) and High Active: CZ Aqua Products (5 teaspoons).
Aro is about 1ft in length, been with me for around 2 months and housed in a 6x2.5x2.5(ft) tank with 5ft sump.
Other tanks mates include Florida Gar, plecos and Eartheaters are doing very well and eating happily. No reported comm fights, all fishes happy.
Please help and advise, first Aro and feeling worried, plus going for a week long holiday on Thursday (19th Dec). (T.T)

Since Saturday open close mouth?
reduce water level down by 20 percent. maybe water pressure on the gill too high.
If still open and close after few hours. then add epsom salt. maybe indigestion.
change your wool too

why not you try just epsom first... if solve then ok..
